The POWER of CHOICE

I love this quote

“Everything in life is a reflection of a choice you have made.

If you want a different result, make a different choice”

It’s important to sometimes remind yourself that in everything you do, you have a CHOICE.

You have a choice whether or not to:

  • Get up and exercise OR hit snooze
  • Go for a walk OR sit on the couch
  • Prep your food OR watch tv
  • Give into temptations out with friends OR stick to your goals and the promise to yourself
  • Start a health program and stick to it OR quit because it’s too hard

Those CHOICES compound to either…… your results or lack of results.

Nobody intends to become unhealthy, overweight or unfit, but often those are the consequences of a series of small poor choices compounded over time.

Choices which in the moment can often seem insignificant.

Subconscious Choices

Most choices become subconscious and form habits. Half the time you’re not even aware you’re making them and that’s the challenge.

For eg: have you ever found at the end of the day you’re tired and hungry and you’ve just polished off a packet of chips or biscuits. You’re then angry and disappointed in yourself because you’ve just undone a whole day of healthy eating and now you’re full and can’t be bothered cooking the healthy dinner you had planned.

You probably did it without even thinking about it.

Well now it’s time to make empowered choices and take ownership for your actions.

It’s easy to blame or complain and tell yourself things like

  • ‘Oh it’s too hard’
  • ‘I was in a bad mood’
  • ‘I’m always tempted’
  • ‘It’s the people I hang around’
  • ‘I need to live like a hermit for it to work’

Nobody forces food into your mouth, the choice is always yours.

Ladies there is no right or wrong, it’s not about doing everything perfectly all of the time and I understand everybody is on a different journey.

What I am saying is that if you’re not happy with where you are right now and you’re not seeing the results you want….then you might need to make some different CHOICES!

So how do you make better choices?

Mindset and Attitude

Everything starts with your mindset!!!! Accept responsibility for where you are now, stop the blame game and make a decision once and for all that you want change and results and will do whatever it takes. Focus on what you WANT!!!

Association and Accountability

Surround yourself with people who will help you succeed and have your best interest at heart. It could be through your training group, your partner, your trainer or a friend. Tell them your goals and hold yourself accountable to them.

Surround yourself with positive influences which subconsciously filter into your mind. Find books, audio’s, podcasts, youtube videos of success, mindset, positivity and law of attraction.

Write affirmations and put them all around you like ‘I AM healthy, happy, confident, strong and beautiful. I nourish my body with whole foods. I am full of energy. I succeed at everything I put my mind to. I am Powerful.

Preparation

Be prepared with your food and meal planning. Don’t go out hungry and tempted in the heat of the moment. Have healthy snacks on hand. Get your exercise clothes and shoes ready the night before.

Yes it might take a bit of extra time to be prepared, but isn’t it worth it if it means you’ll stay on track and you’ve already made your good choice ahead of time.

Being prepared will become your new habit and subconsciously lead to GOOD EASY CHOICES.

Find your WHY

People will always make time for the things they value. If you value your health and fitness you’ll make it a priority. However it goes deeper than that.

Why do you want to be fit and healthy? Is it to have energy for your family? Is it to set an example for your kids? Is it to feel confident in your skin? Is it to find a partner? Is it because you’ve had enough of the way you feel in yourself right now and desperately want change?

When your WHY is big enough and important to you, you’ll find a way to make it happen.

Believe in yourself

You have the POWER within you to create anything you want in your life. Believe wholeheartedly that you will succeed and you WILL. Try and find that feeling now of what it will feel like when you reach your goal.

Choices are at the root of every one of your results.

In essence, you make your choices and then your choices make you.

I believe in you and know you will achieve all of your desires, you first need to choose to believe in yourself and trust that you can do it.
