Strength Training is more than just physical!
I love weight and strength training and am proud of my muscles. But can I share with you something else I’ve learned, it goes beyond that….
I love the feeling of being a strong independent woman and a lot of that strength I have learned and gained from weight training. I’m not simply talking about lifting weights, but also body weight training through yoga and strength/conditioning/
Do you want strength not only in your body but in your mind, emotionally, in your relationships, your career but more importantly within yourself?? Physical training teaches and strengthens us mentally also. I believe with strength comes confidence.
Many women have a concern that ‘If I lift weights I’ll bulk up’ but we simply don’t have the hormones to bulk up like men. If you want a lean, toned body then weight training needs to be included. Did you know that the more muscle mass your body has the more mitochondria you will increase in your muscles. Mitochondria are your ‘fat burning’ furnaces and you want them working for you. Simply, the more muscle mass you have the more effective your body will be with weight loss. Strength training also increases bone density, improves your physical performance and appearance, strengthens your tendons and ligaments and can help prevent injuries.
I also feel that we need our kids to be raised with an inner confidence and strength in today’s society, especially with the outside influences they are bombarded with in social media. How can we demonstrate that to them if we don’t learn to develop it from our own life experience.
Strength training empowers you!
Strength training gives you an inner strength!
Strength training expands your capacity to step out of your comfort zone, become stronger and achieve things you never thought were possible!
You absolutely want to make strength training a part of your fitness routine and see the benefits flow into all areas of your life.
